It’s no secret that our colleagues at Perficient are incredibly generous, thoughtful, and intentional on building a better future for the next generation. We’re united under a common goal to make the world just a little brighter, and we do this by spreading small acts of kindness to those who need it. In honor of the recent National Volunteer Week, our team in Atlanta stepped up and got their hands dirty volunteering at PAWS Atlanta, a no-kill shelter for cats and dogs.

About PAWS Atlanta: How Can We Make a Difference?
At the shelter, all animals are treated with the utmost respect while they wait to find their forever home. PAWS Atlanta has a no-kill philosophy and does not believe in euthanizing animals unless they are terminally ill or incredibly aggressive. The positive outlook and lifestyle standards of PAWS Atlanta sets the organization apart from other local organizations.
“We chose PAWS because they really truly have a need,” said Joya Frisco, senior program manager for Perficient’s southeast region. “They keep the animals indefinitely until they find their forever home. PAWS has funded numerous surgeries, some of them costing more than $25,000, for some of the animals at their shelter prior to including them in events to market them for adoption.”
The non-profit has a strong belief that the relationship built between people and animals often brings out the best for all parties. There are many ways to get involved in the organization, including group, individual, and youth volunteer efforts. We’re proud of our Atlanta team for organizing this philanthropic event and providing their support to foster a caring community.

We’re Impacting the Atlanta Community – One Tail-Wag at a Time!
On April 15, a group of 15 colleagues made a difference for many of our furry friends currently residing at PAWS Atlanta. The team spent much of their time helping to maintain a clean environment that ensures all animals in the shelter are happy, healthy, and properly cared for.
“It was a really cool and special opportunity for us to all get together,” said Bekah Williamson, a business consultant at Perficient. “Some of us broke off and we did some clean-up of their dog playground park, along with the organization’s van. The best part was getting to socialize with the cats and dogs at the end. We’re hoping to do more events on a regular basis!”
Throughout the month of April, our Atlanta team participated in a pet supply drive in which we collected dog food and other much needed supplies for the animals in the shelter. The team also created a Venmo campaign to encourage colleagues and the community to donate money in support of the organization’s mission.
The result was impressive! Collectively, our team raised approximately $600 to help animals in the shelter find a home. We could not have made such a significant impact without the support of those who volunteered their time and effort. The event brought our people together under a shared passion to help animals and make a difference for our communities.
Perficient’s mission is to actively support philanthropic events, and we strive to make a positive difference for our global communities. We recently published our first-ever Community Impact Report, which is a collection of stories, activities, and results that detail a few of the ways that we give back. Read the report to learn about the volunteer efforts of Perficient’s Giving Employee Resource Group (ERG) and discover how our colleagues are changing the world.
At Perficient, we continually look for ways to champion and challenge our talented workforce with interesting projects for high-profile clients, encourage personal and professional growth through training and mentoring, and celebrate our people-oriented culture and the innovative ways they serve Perficient and the community.
